Are Gold Stocks worth the effort

A few weeks ago we decided to revamp our investment strategy as we were having difficulty proving to ourselves that gold stocks were providing the leverage to gold prices that the inherent risks in mining deserve. Our conclusion was that the silver streaming company, Silver Wheaton Corporation (SLW), offered us the best opportunity for profitable investments. Naturally we received a number of brick bats in the mail from the fans of various gold stocks. We did say that we would keep a track on progress and report back, this being the first update.
