The Canadian Maple Leaf gold coin is .9999 pure or purest gold coin in the world. Struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, it is backed as legal tender by the Government of Canada.
Single coins are delivered in vinyl envelopes, while the 10 ounce (uncirculated) lots are packaged in a plastic that conveniently fits in a safety deposit box.
First issued in 1979, the Maple Leaf is the best selling gold bullion coin in North America.
Recognized as the world standard, the Maple Leaf is accepted for trade at all financial institutions or bullion dealers that trade gold.
The 1 ounce coin has a face value of $50. The 1/20, 1/10, 1/4, and 1/2 troy oz Maple Leafs have the same design as the 1 ounce coin except the different weight and face values are noted on the obverse and reverse sides.
