British Britannia
The Britannia is the British version of the one ounce bullion coin, first introduced in 1987. Like other bullion coins, it is issued in four weights from one ounce to half ounce, quarter ounce, and tenth ounce.
Arguably one of the world's most beautiful bullion coins, the figure Britannia first appeared as a reverse type on Roman coins almost 2000 years ago. A design that recurs through British history, Britannia is usually portrayed seated, with the exception of the early 1900s to 1935, when she appeared standing on British Trade Dollars and florins.
Note that in Britain, investment gold coins are VAT free (that's Value Added Tax, similar to Canada's GST)
